Imagine a hypothetical exchange: you receive a club-event PSD poster, change its title in a free editor, and return the working file for someone else to edit. Is seeing the poster enough?

V’s interpretation: editing and returning an editable file may matter more than simply opening it.

PSD stores text and pictures in separate pieces called layers in a working file. PhotoCraft’s official site offers free, open-source editing and v0.2.0 downloads. The v0.2.0 README labels it early alpha. Treat this as a starting point for discovery; it does not establish readiness for your usual work.

The main documentation observed on October 7, 2026 distinguishes application editing and re-saving from a standalone component’s file reading and writing. It says application re-saves differ byte-for-byte from the original. That alone does not prove visual damage. Mutable main documentation does not necessarily describe downloadable v0.2.0 exactly.

Keep the original and change the title on a copy. Before returning it, ask the recipient to reopen the saved copy in their editor, check its appearance, and see whether the title can be edited again.

No app installation, execution, or PSD compatibility test was performed. The suggested checks do not guarantee compatibility.
